Social learning theorist to view the role of prison in either preventing crime or contributing to future c?
Well, - it does both.

It prevents crimes as a deterrent, - and while they are physically in jail.

Criminals learn the most when they can share notes amongst themselves.
Reply:It's a school where little punks become monsters upon their release.Prison reforms no one.

How do I start learning to program in Visual Basic and C++ ?

Where do I start off?

How do I start learning to program in Visual Basic and C++ ?
Get a book or search the internet for some step by step tutorials. You will also need a tool to write the code and compile your programs. Those you can google too. I am not sure if the compilers will be free but you can search for those.

The best books for programing are usually made by O'Reilly or Deitel.

With any program you always want to start of with something can be compiled and run. Whenever you make a change to the program, again compile and run the program to make sure that the changes you have made work.

There are some forums out there, also you can google those, which are there to help people who are struggling with a program.

I hope this helpls. Good Luck
Reply:For VB u can use www.MSDN.com or install MSDN in ur coputer, or in google search for Visual Basic tutorial or learn visual basic and same for C++ u will find lot many sites click on any and go... u can also buy books for beginners.. for searching books go to www.Amazon.com ... All the best and Wish u happy new year...
Reply:I'd say start with the Visual Basic programming as C++ isn't as forgiving or easy to begin with. Unfortunately you will have to purchase Visual Basic to be able to begin programming in it. You can buy a learning edition of the language which has some tutorials included to help you learn. Also this site can provide you with some tutorials on how to get started:

http://www.vbtutor.net/vbtutor.html

Remember learning to program requires patience and isn't very rewarding in the sense of most of your time is spent debugging with a few seconds of joy when something works. Good luck though and remember patience is the key.
Reply:as someone earlier said it is best to start with visual basic but if you are willing to try c++ then a good site would be cplusplus.com that is were I learned c++
Reply:For C++:

Book reviews. As you can see, many books fail miserably. I would consider for beginners C++ Primer by Lippman and Accelerated C++.

Get a compiler as well. Visual C++ Express or gcc/MinGW are free.

VB: You should learn VB.NET. Don't know of any good books, but I can tell you will need Microsoft's compiler. Get Visual Basic Express for free.

I am a Diploma in E&C holder, I want persue distance learning MBA(IT & Systems).Is it possible to do.?

I am in Army as Technical Soldier.

I am a Diploma in E%26amp;C holder, I want persue distance learning MBA(IT %26amp; Systems).Is it possible to do.?
I don't know what E%26amp;C holder means but to pursue an MBA in the United States, even if it is through one of those questionable online programs, you need to have completed the equivalent of an Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree (BA,BS). You can not go from high school diploma or GED to MBA. That would be wrong and a cheaper way to go and most people wouldn't have the necessary background to understand it.

I can't speak for anyone else in the world but in America, you get your MFA or Ph.D. when you have earned it. Having said that, what is an MBA. Is it a Master's in Business and Administration? If so, then I'm right. If it, however, is some sort of vocational degree, then you can always get one of those technical or vocational degrees as we call them with no previous educational experience. Hell, you can be a high school drop out to earn one of those.
Reply:I am not sure, but there is something called executive MBA program for guys like you, ie your experience counts.Some IIMs offer executive management programs but you need a sponsor,for a clear picture, try to visit iim websites.

If you are so interested in doing MBA, then if you are in India, I advice you to do something like BCA and then get into MBA.Undergraduate degree is a must for getting into conventional management programs.

When will we stop learning and how will our future generations advance in technology e.t.c?

Do you think the human race will ever stop learning ? How far will our technology advance? We will all be dead and will never see it but it would be so good to know the quality of life 1000 years in the future.

When will we stop learning and how will our future generations advance in technology e.t.c?
Human-beings will never stop learning about our own planet or about the rest of the universe. There are far too many places we haven't traveled to or studied indepthly even here on Earth.

While there are quite a few many theories on what's going to happen to us (global warning, etc), I think that technology could advance far beyond our wildest dreams. It's already starting to in this generation, and continues to each day! :D
Reply:Momentum is continious.
Reply:we never stop leanring, our whole life is a learning curve, even when we think we know what we need to know, theres more to learn.

Im learning to play guitar but cant master c chord any tips , my fingers dont seem long enough ,any tips?
Have you got your thumb wrapped right round the neck? If you have, release it and put the tip of it right at the back of the neck for support. You can now drop your wrist lower and curl the fingers round over the strings more. This position will free up your fingers no end and you will find all chords much easier, including the C.
Reply:Get yourself one of these.

Reply:Try the banjo....
Reply:Just keep at it. Try adjusting your hand/thumb position. If you are just starting it takes time to develop strength in your hands and fingers. Don't give up though, it gets easier!
Reply:Play the cord as a fifth, Index finger on the A string 3rd fret, D and G strings 5th fret (I use my little finger but Status Quo fans use their middle finger)
Reply:well his wife is being accused of murder but she reckons she's been framed....ta dum.....

make sure the ball of you thumb is in the middle of the back of the neck so your fingers can reach the bass E string...use finger tips to fret the notes....practice makes perfect...also excercise your fingers for flexibility, they will hurt at first but you'll adapt....
Reply:loosen up and prbly stretch out your fingers or squeeze a tennis ball during your free time
Reply:jus hang in there practise makes perfect it will all come to u in time... when i was startin out it was bmin that caused problems......
Reply:Index finger on 2nd string, first fret...middle finger on 4th string, 2nd fret...ring finger on 5th string, 3rd fret....mute the 6th string...the rest are open.
Reply:Don't pay too much attention to which finger is 'supposed' to go where if you can find a comfortable way of doing it. Make sure your wrist is pushed forward and only the tip of your thumb on the back of the neck so your fingers are coming straight down on the fretboard (shortening the strap might help if you're standing).

If all else fails, try a guitar with a narrower fretboard - there's a world of difference between my 12 string acoustic and my Rickenbacker electric.
Reply:keep practising it will get easier,but do not give up,good luck

What's the difference b/w c,c+ & c++ languages?What should one start learning with?Are they interrelated?

As most of them have said above...there is no language called C+..there are only C,C++....

The C language is a structured programming language...

and C++ is a object oriented programming language...

The code you type in both the languages are same...both languages have same syntax for the code...you can start with C or C++..it doesn't matter much...coz most of the video tutorials i have seen..and books i have read...starts from the most basic elements in the C language...and C and C++ are languages used to develop programs in the MS-DOS environement.... i.e when you execute your program...the output will be shown in a black screen... and after you have mastered C and C++..you can opt for Visual C++ or C# programming language which are used by proffesional software developers to make applications for Microsoft Windows... now the software indusry don't use C or C++ for their software development... they use the windows programming languages....But it's better to start with C or C++...if you are a fresher....

What's the difference b/w c,c+ %26amp; c++ languages?What should one start learning with?Are they interrelated?
No they are similar but not the same. Learn C++
Reply:B_ C_ C++

first there was B language then came C n then C++

C# ( sharp) it is the competitor of C++
Reply:First of all, there is no language called C+.Only C and C++ are there.

OK. C is the basis for learning any computer language.

C++ is another programming language born out of C.It has some additional features when compared to C.

Learn C first.But before that if you are strong in BASIC programming,it will be better.
Reply:First of all there's no such language as C+... The difference between C and C++ is that, C is a non object oriented language, while C++ is an object oriented language. But they have very similar syntax. Actually C++ is extended from C.

Search for object oriented language in google.
Reply:C- is structure oriented ,where as C++ object oriented progamming design

C++ is super set of C.

start with C++
Reply:C++ is a super set of C, you can start learning C first and then move to C++
Reply:C is structured language while C++ is object oriented. C++ can do everything that C can and also more than that!

Its not necessary to know C to learn C++, just get a good beginner level c++ book like Schaums.

There's nothing like c+.
