First - you are learning to learn. That may sound stupid, but consider this - you will either be learning something new every day for the rest of your life, or you won't have much of a life at all. If you can't learn, then with luck, you might have a career that requires a paper hat and a name tag.
Second - you are learning to be a citizen of your country. An educated and intelligent populace is better at choosing its leaders. Or, you can be fat, dumb, and happy, and take your chances. Which would you rather be?
Third - learning stuff now is easier and cheaper than it will be in the future. I don't know where you live, so I'll assume it's the US. For the most part, our public schools are fairly decent at doing their jobs. Yeah, some stink, but they're working on that. Go look up the cost of college credits at your State U. Locally, I'd pay over $200 for 1 credit. At that rate, a high school class that meets 5 hours a week would cost $1000. If you want to go to college, you can learn the basics - math, English, science, etc - now and for free, or you can wait and pay the equivalent of a decent used car to get stuff that you should have learned already. And lots of colleges charge lots of dollars for remedial classes full of silly dolts who couldn't bother to pay attention in high school. Is that you, or are you smart enough to avoid that?
Finally - you can't tell what you'll need to know in 20 years, let alone 5 years. So it makes sense to study now, and learn all you can. Otherwise, someone smarter than you will cheat you on your pay check, your taxes, or your rent. Don't worry about being cheated on your house payment. If you can't grasp the value of an education now, you probably won't be able to afford a house.
Why is school so important, other than learning but, c'mon! All u do is learn, sometimes u don't need to learn
school is important mainly because you learn. You should never stop learning, it is a lifetime activity to keep up with the world. Sometimes you dont need to learn CERTAIN THINGS but at all times do you need to learn overall.
School is not only for learning, in the sense you are thinking, believe it or not. At school, people develop their social skills (people who dont go to school or is home school esp during grade school tend to be more anti-social, more kept to themselves, shy, because they have no social skills), they learn how to talk, casually and professionally, develop a network of friends which is very much needed for future references. At school, you more easily keep up with your exercise, your world and economy (like, the US is currently in a recession - though i didn't care about that at all in hs, but i do now) you learn what you are interested in and good at. These are all things you learn from school, you just dont feel it as learning because its fun. Learning isn't only lecture lecture notes notes test.
